I know what it looks like when a district shows up for its teachers and its students, and I know what it looks like when it doesn't. I want to help build the kind of district that is future oriented and focused on resourcing our children to be succesful social emotionally, academically, and beyond"
Why I’m Running
The Pacifica School District faces a critical financial turning point. Protecting our classrooms and restoring community trust will require transparency, fiscal discipline, and honest communication. I’m running for School Board because I believe our students, teachers, and staff deserve a trustee who doesn’t shy away from doing what is right.
Strong leadership means asking the hard questions, understanding the risks, analyzing the data, and making sure there is a clear plan and accountability for following through. I want to help protect what makes Pacifica’s schools special — dedicated teachers and staff,preserve Pacifica’s highly valued open enrollment, and student-focused lear

STUDENTS FIRST! Prioritize our classrooms
Budget adjustments will begin at the district level to ensure students' daily learning remains undisturbed. Cut from the top. Follow all legal requirements to protect district resources.
SUPPORT TEACHERS Empower educators and staff
Create opportunities for educator and staff input and leadership on initiatives across the district while continuing to look at increases and improving negotiation.
Clear communication
Communicate plans clearly and follow through on promises. Be an active listener, personally respond to every inquiry with empathy, and ensure no voice is left unheard. When making a decision, explain the thought process and acknowledge alternative perspectives with validation and empathy.
About Grace Sobieski
Grace Sobieski is a mother of four- a 2 year old and rising TK, 1st and 3rd Grader - all in the Pacifica School District. She currently is an owner/ director of an established early learning program in Pacifica.
Grace has taught in the child development department at College of Marin and is a Teach for America alumni - where she earned a teaching credential and master's in elementary education. She also has two years of experience as a third grade teacher.
Since her oldest has entered the Pacifica School District, she has volunteered as PTO President, room parent, art teacher, field trip driver, school site council, book fair coordinator, theme day coordinator and many other roles.
She is a passionate student and education advocate, and has relentlessly shown up in district efforts to improve the districts communication, transparency and fiscal crisis.
